I have been the pastor at Shoreline CRC since June 2018. I am married to Grace and have two young girls, Miriam and Greta. I enjoy pushing my kids on the swing, cooking, reading and games. I love my work as a pastor, and would be happy to spend some time over a cup of coffee with you!

Children's Ministry Coordinator
As the mom of two young children, I care a lot about helping kids meet God, whether through Bible stories, prayer, or marveling at God’s creation. During the day, I homeschool my daughters to try to convince them that a nature walk is as fun as the playground and read them books upon books. I’m a writer and editor by trade, though I dabble in handicrafts and do my best to keep my garden looking decent. I can thank the women of this church for anything I’ve learned about tending plants!

I have been going to this church for 66 years and love this community that has loved me back. My wife Debbie and I were married here 48 years ago and raised our four children here as well. We spend a good part of our time being with our kids, 12 grandchildren, and several foster grandchildren as they come and go. I have worked around the facilities for years and look forward to this new position and its opportunities.

I have been coming to the Shoreline CRC parking lot for 40 years now. For the first 38 of those, I was the First Grade teacher at Shoreline Christian School. Now I’ve transitioned to the position of Office Administrator at the church. My husband Jay and I have been members of the church since we married here in 1986. Our daughters Katie and Mandy grew up in this church. I was raised in small-town Iowa. I love the sense of community that I find at Shoreline CRC. This place is my chosen family. I’m enjoying the new adventure of serving in this capacity.
ELDERS & DEACONS
The church is also overseen by caring and dedicated volunteer men and women. Our Elders focus on the spiritual life of the congregation, in partnership with the Pastor. Our Deacons are dedicated to helping those in our church and community when they encounter a difficult time in their lives. Together, they work hard to see that the life of the church grows and matures.
